Establishing sustainable loving homes for orphans in East Africa that develop children to reach their full potential.
You are Sowing into Fertile Soil
We are grateful for our donors and sponsors.  Thank you for your support! Your investment in the lives of the children of Lulwanda Children's Home is bearing fruit in many ways. This poem by our missionary Bobbi Palmer tells the story of a few of our boys who are learning in a hands-on way to grow food for their family.
Down on the farm, where the animals play
there are 4 little farmers working all day.

Charles and Aron and Wycliff and Mike,
all working together doing something they like.

They were taught in school by teachers so smart,
how to build a nursery like a work of art.

First they chose a spot that was far away,
from the small children and animals who like to play.

A wise choice they made one could not debate,
as they put it near those who guard the gate.

These farmers started with a tiny little plot,
they hoed and planted some seeds they had got.

Next the boys gathered many, cassava sticks,
to make a roof on which lies grass easy to pick.

They know this is the protection they need,
to keep drenching rain from washing away the seed.

Once this was finished the boys could hardly stand,
to sit idly by with all of this extra time and land.

While the other children played basketball and other such games,
"We would rather do this," farmer Aron exclaims.

So the young farmers dug up the rest of the ground,
that was near the new nursery and all around.

Each day after school and on weekends you can find,
God's Earth being a teacher to a tender young mind.

For this harvest these boys have a much bigger plan,
This crop won't get eaten by child, woman nor man.

You see, from this harvest they will keep all of the seeds,
to grow an even bigger garden to provide for their needs.

Tomatoes, maize, pumpkins and many a bean,
peppers and cucumbers are soon to be seen.

You sponsors are like these farmers in so many ways,
You too will see a grand harvest one of these days.
